Fantasy football Week 2 inactives: Who’s in and who’s out?
[ad_1]
Whom should you start? Whom should you sit? To help you set your fantasy football lineups and avoid starting an offensive player who won’t be in the lineup, we’ll post fantasy-relevant updates and analysis here as NFL teams release their official inactives lists. Any rankings cited in this column come from our ESPN Fantasy staff ranks.
Official Sunday inactives should begin coming in approximately 90 minutes before the scheduled kickoff times: around 11:30 a.m. ET for the early games and 2:30 p.m. ET for the late-afternoon games.
Refresh often for the latest information.
1 p.m. ET games
Tommy Tremble, TE, CAR: Hamstring — Questionable
Impact: Ja’Tavion Sanders did very little in Week 1 as a fill-in for Tremble.
Raheem Blackshear, RB, CAR: Personal — Questionable
Impact: He’s No. 4 on the team’s RB depth chart, not a fantasy factor.
David Njoku, TE, CLE: Ankle — OUT
Impact: Jordan Akins will start for the Browns in Week 2, and perhaps longer as Njoku is “week-to-week.”
Jake Ferguson, TE, DAL: Knee — Doubtful
Impact: Expect Luke Schoonmaker to get the bulk of TE targets …
John Stephens Jr., TE, DAL: Hamstring — OUT
Impact: … with Brevyn Spann-Ford as the only other healthy TE option.
Jameson Williams, WR, DET: Ankle — Questionable
Impact: Limited in practice all week, but it looks like he should be healthy enough to play.
Isaiah Williams, WR, DET: Abdomen — OUT
Impact: Kalif Raymond firmly locks in as no worse than the team’s No. 3 WR option.
Jordan Love, QB, GB: Knee — Doubtful
Impact: As reports say Love is not medically cleared to play, Malik Willis will almost assuredly be the uninspiring starter.
MarShawn Lloyd, RB, GB: Hamstring — Questionable
Impact: He missed Week 1. Expect Josh Jacobs to get the ball early and often in this one.
Jayden Reed, WR, GB: Calf — Questionable
Impact: Even if he is able to play, the QB situation should point you elsewhere in fantasy.
Josh Downs, WR, IND: Ankle — Questionable
Impact: This will be a game-time call. Adonai Mitchell and Alec Pierce both get value boosts if he sits.
Joshua Palmer, WR, LAC: Knee — Questionable
Impact: Brenden Rice could see some action if Palmer is unable to play. Signs currently point to Palmer giving it a go.
Hassan Haskins, RB, LAC: Toe — Questionable
Impact: Haskins has little impact on the J.K. Dobbins/Gus Edwards timeshare.
Jordan Addison, WR, MIN: Ankle — OUT
Impact: Jalen Nailor should see the second-most WR targets behind Justin Jefferson.
JaMycal Hasty, RB, NE: Knee — Questionable
Impact: Antonio Gibson was not on the injury report this week. He should be the one to spell Rhamondre Stevenson.
Graham Gano, K, NYG: Groin — Expected to play
Impact: Gano was a late add to the injury report, but with no designation, meaning he’s expected to play. Still, if you have another option …
Kenneth Walker III, RB, SEA: Oblique — Doubtful
Impact: It’s Zach Charbonnet to start, with Kenny McIntosh in reserve. George Holani being elevated from the practice squad is not a good sign for Walker.
Pharaoh Brown, TE, SEA: Foot — OUT
Impact: Noah Fant (toe) will start after being upgraded during the week.
Christian McCaffrey, RB, SF: Calf — OUT/IR
Impact: McCaffrey will sit for a minimum of four weeks. Jordan Mason becomes a must-start option.
4 p.m. ET games
Xavier Weaver, WR, ARI: Oblique — Questionable
Impact: Only notable in that this should mean one less WR option to compete with rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. for looks.
Tee Higgins, WR, CIN: Hamstring — Doubtful
Impact: Andrei Iosivas gets a second chance to make fantasy waves as Cincy’s No. 2 WR.
Devaughn Vele, WR, DEN: Ribs — OUT
Impact: Either Marvin Mims Jr. or Troy Franklin have a chance to get No. 3-WR levels of play.
Hollywood Brown, WR, KC: Shoulder — OUT/IR
Impact: Brown is not expected to play at all this season. Xavier Worthy now has a better shot at repeating Week 1’s successful debut. Perhaps JuJu Smith-Schuster works his way back into the mix.
Davis Allen, TE, LAR: Back — OUT
Impact: Colby Parkinson should have a monopoly on TE targets this week.
Russell Wilson, QB, PIT: Calf — Questionable
Impact: There’s a chance Wilson dresses — but only as the No. 2 QB, giving Justin Fields another week to try and claim the job.
Roman Wilson, WR, PIT: Ankle — Questionable
Impact: Ben Skowronek was elevated from the practice squad, so things don’t look good for the rookie’s potential debut.
Sunday night game
Keenan Allen, WR, CHI: Heel — Questionable
Impact: A game-time call for the SNF game? Very risky. DJ Moore is the only healthy WR starter in Chicago.
Rome Odunze, WR, CHI: Knee — Questionable
Impact: Also likely to be a last-minute decision. Pivot to Tyler Scott or DeAndre Carter off waivers if you’re suddenly stuck.
Dameon Pierce, RB, HOU: Hamstring — Questionable
Impact: Cam Akers, a healthy scratch in Week 1, would likely dress (and play) if Pierce can’t.
